Restaurant Pest Control: We Won't Get in the Way of Service, and We'll Leave You a Paper Trail

Quick answer

Pest control in a restaurant is a different challenge altogether from a home: food, water, heat and constant goods deliveries are all present at once, and the businesses on either side of you are in the same trade — however clean your own kitchen is, the whole back alley behaves as one ecosystem. That's why restaurant pest control isn't about one stronger spray — it's a system you can sustain: sealing off the source, scheduled treatment, and full documentation you can put in front of a hygiene inspection without hesitation.

How our restaurant plan works

  • Baseline assessment — we go through the kitchen, the floor, the storeroom and the back-alley boundary point by point: entry routes, hiding spots, drainage. We check the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD)'s basic cockroach prevention measures (keeping things dry and clean, proper food storage, clearing food scraps, sealing gaps, covering floor drains) against the actual conditions in your premises, and write down in plain terms anywhere that falls short.
  • After-hours treatment — work is done after closing or before opening, so it never gets in the way of service; we'll always tell you exactly how long to ventilate and when it's safe to reopen.
  • Scheduled treatment contracts — monthly, or timed around your closed days; cockroach control relies mainly on gel bait plus a residual barrier, rodent control on monitoring points, sealing and bait station placement.
  • Full documentation — every visit comes with a record: date, scope, chemicals used (all Hong Kong-registered pesticides, named explicitly), findings and recommendations. This is exactly what backs you up during a hygiene inspection, a licence renewal, or even a conversation with your landlord.
  • Emergency response — a customer's spotted something, or you've had a complaint? Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll confirm a treatment plan the same day.

Is a cha chaan teng treated differently from a fine-dining restaurant?

Same principles, different intensity. A high-volume kitchen with heavy oil fumes and constant deliveries needs a shorter treatment cycle and denser monitoring points; a smaller or lighter-service outlet can run on a less frequent schedule. That's why we don't sell a "standard package" — we quote against your premises' actual conditions after the baseline assessment, itemised line by line.

Frequently asked questions

How soon after treatment can we reopen?

It depends what was done. Gel bait and monitoring points essentially don't affect reopening at all; residual spraying comes with a specific ventilation and reopening time each visit, and we schedule it after closing so you're ready to go by opening time.

What use are pest control records when a hygiene inspector visits?

A complete treatment record — date, scope, named registered pesticide, recommendations — is concrete evidence you've kept up proper prevention measures. We provide a record and report with every visit, so you just need to keep a file.

The back alley isn't part of my premises — what if pests keep coming back in from there no matter what I do?

This is the most common bind restaurants face. What you control is your own line of defence: sealing the back door, covering floor drains, keeping stock away from the wall. The back alley itself is public space, and you can report conditions there to FEHD; pooling a scheduled treatment plan with neighbouring shops along the same row delivers better results at lower cost — this kind of coordination is something we handle regularly.

Do you cover takeaway kitchens and central kitchens too?

Yes. The priority in a kitchen unit is goods flow (cardboard, pallets) and storage areas, so the plan leans harder on monitoring point placement. Same after-hours scheduling, same full documentation.
