MOSQUITOES

Hong Kong mosquito control starts with breeding-source checks

Close-up of an Aedes albopictus mosquito landing on skin

We inspect standing water and mosquito activity inside and around the property, including plant saucers, drains and air-conditioning trays. Source treatment and adult control are chosen for the conditions found. Area data adds context rather than diagnosing your property; see the Hong Kong Mosquito Index Tracker for context. In June 2026, the highest monitoring-area reading was 40.2%, FEHD’s fourth gravidtrap-index tier (widest distribution). Read each value with its date and indicator.

Common signs

  • Repeated activity around dawn or dusk, prompting checks of screens, gaps and nearby water
  • Persistent activity near gardens, podiums or rooftops
  • Activity returns after indoor treatment, suggesting common areas may need checking
  • Standing water near a shop entrance or back alley, with responsibility to clarify

How we work

01

Source inspection

We check every corner inside and outside the flat for standing water: plant saucers, floor drains, air-con drip trays, rooftop clutter, open drain sections. HK$350 inspection fee, fully credited when you book.

02

Source treatment

Remove accessible standing water and select appropriate larval control where needed. Identify structural or common-area issues that require management or another responsible party to act.

03

Adult mosquito control

Residual treatment applied where relevant (mosquito resting spots: shaded wall surfaces, under plants).

04

Estates and commercial premises

Podium gardens and shared drainage channels are management-company territory: our property management service can review visit frequency using site findings and FEHD area data.

Pricing

The published home mosquito/fly service starts at HK$1,280 and includes breeding-source inspection and treatment. Gardens, estates, commercial areas and additional work need a site-specific quote. On-site inspection is HK$350, fully credited when you book treatment.

Frequently asked questions

When is mosquito season in Hong Kong?

Mosquitoes are active roughly from March to November, with May to September generally the main control period. Keep checking standing water and consult FEHD monitoring data rather than waiting for bites before inspecting.

Why do I keep getting bitten when my neighbour says they're fine?

Standing water, planting, openings and floor-level conditions can differ between nearby flats. Inspect the actual breeding sites and entry routes before choosing treatment; an area index cannot establish the risk in one flat.

Is one treatment enough?

It depends on whether breeding sources stay under control. Private gardens and rooftops still need regular water clearance; common areas may require management coordination and ongoing checks. We explain the treatable scope and measures needed alongside it, without promising a permanent result from one visit.
