Pest Control in North District: Warehouses, Village Houses and Estates Each Need a Different Approach
North District's pest problems aren't one shape. Sheung Shui's warehouse and logistics belt carries structurally higher rodent pressure; the ancestral village-house belt toward Ta Kwu Ling and Sha Tau Kok has ongoing termite and mosquito issues; Fanling's estates are standard estate mosquito management. Over the same period, Fan Ling South told a completely different story: 8.4% in April, 14.9% in May, climbing to 18.2% in June — the fourth-highest June reading across all 62 monitored areas in Hong Kong. Warehouse work is built around goods flow and the building structure — under pallets, behind racking, and around loading points are rodent highways — so the plan leans on monitoring points, sealing and bait-station placement at a different density and in different spots than a home job. We can only quote accurately after seeing the site.
I'm renovating an ancestral village house — should I get a termite inspection first?
Strongly recommended. Village houses toward Ta Kwu Ling and Sha Tau Kok have more timber structure and sit close to hillside scrub, making them a higher termite-risk environment. Skip the check before renovation and you risk sealing up a wall only to discover mud tubes afterwards, at several times the cost to put right.
